ROYA Film House and Armanshahr Foundation/OPEN ASIA are pleased to announce the inauguration, for the first time in the region, of the International Women’s Film Festival. The Festival is supported by FORTY institutions and media both national and international media such as TOLO TV, 8 Sobh daily, the International Association of Women in Radio and Television- India, Civil Society and Human Rights Organization, Shahrzad (radio for Girls), Mardom and Mojdeh radios and a number of other national human rights and international organizations such as the International Federation for Human Rights. The city of Herat and its Citadel will host the three-day International Film Festival (7 to 9 March 2013) on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The Festival will take place every year, however the first Festival is not competitive.

The Festival has already received more than 60 films from 15 countries. A selection of these films will be shown during the festival and three workshops led by specialists will allow local film/radio/TV workers to profit from them.The last call to national and international film makers to send their works (fiction/documentary) on the theme of “women” was set for 24 Feb 2013.

01-1-300x2037 March 2013- For the first time in Afghanistan a three days International Women’s film Festival is taking place in the city of Herat. The festival has been organized jointly by Roya film House and Arman Shar foundation to mark International Women’s Day and to raise awareness on the women’s right from 7th to 9th March. “30 final movies from 100 movies that we received are selected to be screened during the festival and subjects of all these movies have relations to women and their life as an encouragement campaign about women’s importance in the society” said Roya Saddat the organizer of the event and head of Roya film house.

Around 700 years ago, Queen Goharshad, wife of a Timouri heir, is said to have inspired a Renaissance in Herat, Afghanistan’s western province. Seven centuries later, a group of women filmmakers in Afghanistan have inspired a similar change in their war-ravaged country. The historic city of Herat, close to the Iran border and the setting for Khaled Hosseini’s celebrated novel A Thousand Splendid Suns, played host to the First International Film Festival on Women from March 6-9. جشنواره بین المللی فیلم زنان؛ “زنان شایسته ترین سفیران صلح

01-1-1-300x200نخستین جشنواره بین‌المللی فیلم زنان” به مناسبت روز جهانی زن، ۸ مارس به مدت سه روز در ارگ باستانی شهر هرات برگزار شد؛ صد فیلم از ۲۰ کشور دنیا به دبیرخانه جشنواره ارسال شده بود که پس از تایید هیات داوران،۱۰ فیلم از افغانستان و ۲۵ فیلم از دیگر کشورها به نمایش در آمد. در این جشنواره، فیلم‌سازان متعددی از کشورهایی چون افغانستان، ایران، تاجیکستان و هندوستان به عنوان مهمان حضور داشتند . این جشنواره توسط بنیاد آرمان‌شهر و خانه فیلم رویا با ریاست گیسو جهانگیری و رویا سادات برای اولین بار در منطقه در روزهای هفتم، هشتم و نهم مارچ و با حضور بیش از ۱۵۰۰ نفر برگزار شد. بشتر بخوانید . . .

فدراسیون بین المللی جامعه های حقوق بشر از اولین جشنواره بین المللی فیلم زنان پشتیبانی می کند

04-1گیسو جهانگیری، مدیر عامل بنیاد آرمان‏شهر ، عضو فدراسیون بین المللی جامعه های حقوق بشر، گفت: «سینما رسانه ای نیرومند برای رشد آگاهی در باره مشکلات روزمره مردم است، گاهی حتا بدون این که این مشکلات را ببینیم. این جشنواره، که در شرایطی پرخطر و پرچالش برای زنان برگزار می شود، نوید از پیشرفتی مهم می دهد.» سوهیر بالحسن، رییس فدراسیون بین المللی جامعه های حقوق بشر نیز اظهار کرد: «جشنواره بین المللی فیلم زنان ـ هرات موقعیتی بی نظیر برای تاکید بر زنده بودن جامعه مدنی افغانستان و ابراز همبستگی بین المللی با زنان افغانستان در گرفتاری هایشان در کشوری است که در اثر جنگ چندپاره شده است. زنان افغانستان هم قربانی هستند و هم فعالانه در پیشبرد صلح و مدارا در افغانستان نقش دارند.» بشتر بخوانید . . .

FIDH: Launch of the Herat International Women’s Film Festival: International solidarity with the women of Afghanistan

On the eve of International Women’s Day, FIDH supports the first-ever International Women’s Film Festival in Afghanistan, which will take place from 7 to 9 March in Herat. The festival was initiated by Armanshahr Foundation and Roya Film House, with the support of 40 human rights and women’s organizations and media partners.
